LAPAZUL’S STORY
Bringing life to a dream.
From the moment you step off the plane, Costa Rica will awaken your senses.
For many years, Elizabeth Patricia envisioned a beautiful place surrounded by nature with a breathtaking view of the ocean where people could stay, be at peace, learn, and heal from whatever ailed them, whether it be spiritual, emotional, or physical. And in May 2016, she and her husband celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in Costa Rica.
As she stepped onto a piece of land high in the mountains, she knew it was the place she had envisioned. From that moment, Lapazul was born.
Lapazul is where people can come from around the world to connect to a place like none other. A place where the beauty around them awakens their senses.
A place that welcomes them to its peaceful beauty and tranquil environment. A place where a lifelong dream found its home on the central Pacific Coast of Costa Rica.

Elizabeth Patricia Connor, founder of Lapazul, is a bestselling author, experiential retreat leader, transformational coach, and sought-after inspirational speaker. She was born in Costa Rica, has lived around the world, and is currently alternating between Costa Rica and Canada. She is bilingual in English and Spanish and is sensitive to different customs and cultures. She is manifesting her long-time dream of building a retreat center located on the Central Pacific coast of Costa Rica with her late husband, Marek Kowalcyk. Elizabeth not only has the utmost respect for her native land but wishes to share the beauty of Costa Rica with others while providing you with the ultimate canvas for your vision.

Marek Kowalczyk, co-founder of Lapazul, was a successful entrepreneur who built a thriving construction business in Canada after immigrating from Poland. His expertise and contacts in the construction industry, along with his belief in Elizabeth Patricia’s vision for creating a one-of-a-kind retreat center, helped them bring the dream of Lapazul to life.

I have been to many retreat centres over the years, and I’m delighted to share that Lapazul is my absolute favourite! From the exquisite food, to the genuinely peaceful and happy staff, to the 5-Star accommodations overlooking an infinity pool and the ocean, to nightly sunsets and spectacular wildlife, the entire experience was unforgettable. Plus the added bonus of the proximity to the beach, the town of Dominical and excursions like Ziplining and nature walks. I will be back!
