We share the passing of Marek Kowalczyk, beloved husband of Elizabeth-Patricia, co-founder of Lapazul, and a cherished friend to many. Marek’s sudden departure has left a void in our lives, but his spirit will forever remain intertwined with the beauty and tranquility of this sanctuary he helped create. 

Marek was a man of remarkable vision and unwavering dedication. A successful entrepreneur in Canada, he brought his expertise and passion to Lapazul, playing an integral role in this amazing place’s design, construction, and overall upkeep. His commitment to Elizabeth-Patricia’s dream was evident in every detail, from the carefully crafted structures to the meticulously maintained grounds.  He had an unparalleled love for Lapazul that he ensured everyone could see in the sweeping views and small details. 

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Marek was a man of warmth, generosity, and infectious enthusiasm. He had a knack for making everyone feel welcome and valued, whether it was a guest at Lapazul, an employee at his flooring company, or a fellow Canucks fan cheering alongside him. His love for his family was boundless, and his pride in his daughter, Marta, shone through in every conversation. 

Marek lived life to the fullest, embracing every moment with his characteristic zest. He was an avid fisherman, a talented cook, and a loyal friend. His quick wit and dry sense of humor could brighten any room, and his stories were always met with laughter and admiration. 

Though Marek’s time with us was cut short, his legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched and the sanctuary he helped build. As we mourn his passing, let us also celebrate his extraordinary life and the indelible mark he left on this world.
