Our tour is completely hands-on and will satisfy the curiosity of tourgoers of all ages. You will use all of your senses to navigate the farm while identifying an interesting variety of spices, such as our beloved vanilla, true Ceylon cinnamon, cacao, black pepper, allspice, turmeric, and a variety of exotic fruits and medicinal plants.
Each Friday, you will have the opportunity to visit the local farmers market, where people from around the area are selling various vegetables, bread, fruit, jewelry , and other items.
These majestic waterfalls are one of the main attractions of the southern region in Costa Rica, not only for their natural scenic beauty, which offers tourists moments of recreation and fun. Take a short ride adjacent to the waterfall site, where you will walk down to see the falls.
The Lapazul team will pack a lunch for you and then take you to this lovely hidden beach, a little over 20 miles (32 km) south of Quepos and the highly-visited Manuel Antonio National Park. Yet, it is a complete escape from the typical tourist destination.
After a cup of coffee, your guide will take you on the lowland trails. Your experienced local Naturalist Guide will lead you first down sparsely wooded trail through a former teak plantation where myriad birds are found in the trees and the brush.
This trail leads you to a creek, where egrets, herons, rails, and ibis are often found. The creek meanders in secondary forest until you hit a rural road to the beach, where you will have best opportunities to observe shore birds such as whimbrels, plovers, phalaropes, sandpipers and sanderlings, pelicans and frigate birds. From the beach it is a short walk back to the Guide Center, where you began.
